A CLOSER LOOK

What we can work on.

Click a topic to see a practical learning focus. We select the right depth for the learner, rather than treating every grade the same.

01Language structures and spelling+

Practise word order, tense, negatives and spelling in meaningful sentences. Explain the rule before applying it to a new example.

02Comprehension and visual literacy+

Read the instruction and identify relevant details. For visuals, connect the image, wording, audience and purpose.

03Writing and transactional texts+

Use the conventions of the requested text type. Plan the content and register, then check paragraphing and language.

04Literature and supported interpretation+

State an interpretation and support it with an event, character detail or relevant textual evidence. Explain rather than retell.

When extra support could help

Vocabulary gaps or sentence structure make it difficult to show what the learner understands.

Watch for: Knowing a rule in isolation but not applying it consistently in a full sentence.

A useful sign of progress: The learner can apply a language rule in context and support a comprehension answer with evidence.
